The South Coast Composite Mountain Bike Team (SCCMBT) a Santa Barbara area youth mountain biking program, is looking for new members. Training rides start in November and races begin in March.
An introductory meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Bicycle Bob’s, 320 S. Kellogg Ave., and an Introductory Fun Ride is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Ellwood Mesa, across from Ellwood School.
SCCMBT is open to middle and high school students in the greater Santa Barbara/Goleta/Carpinteria area. The team is administered by a group of volunteer coaches, including parents, teachers, former professional riders and avid cyclists.
Coaches undergo extensive training, background checks and first aid/CPR certification to provide a safe, fun environment for the team.
SCCMBT promotes safe cycling, environmental stewardship, good trail etiquette; and respectful, kind, supportive behavior at all times. SCCMBT is affiliated with Echelon Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara’s largest and most recognized cycling club.
SCCMBT is sanctioned by NICA and competing in the SoCal League .
