Submitted photo Visit Hot Springs events won five awards, including two gold awards, at the annual convention of the Arkansas Festivals and Events Association held in Eureka Springs, according to a news release.
Last fall’s inaugural Gudrun Mountain Bike Festival came away with two gold awards, one for the promotional poster for the mountain biking event and one for the souvenir given to each of the event’s participants.
“We here at Visit Hot Springs understand that our multiple special events here in Hot Springs are invaluable in helping us bring visitors to the city and provide wholesome entertainment and activities for our residents, so we are especially pleased when those events are recognized by our peers,” Bill Solleder, marketing director for VHS, said in the release.
Hot Springs’ annual Spa-Con multi-genre comics and pop culture convention held in September each year received three awards from the AFEA: A silver award for the Spa-Con T-shirt; a bronze award for the convention’s special promotional photo, and a bronze award for Spa-Con social media promotional campaign.
