PRESS RELEASE: Northern Grip Mountain Bike Festival
Yes, we’ve stirred from our hibernation and we’re doing it again. Same place. Same month: Stubbylee Park & Lee Quarry, 13th July 2019, with the tried and tested Friday night to Sunday morning format.
Northern Grip is all about the social side of biking, with a chilled party atmosphere for all the family to explore in our glorious parkland festival hub and spectacular riding on the hills.
The riding will feature several miles of rocky, twisty singletrack amidst the weird and wild landscape of the Lancashire moors. We’ll be pushing ourselves to bring you some choice new routes to explore this year, as well as the graded trails of Lee Quarry’s spectacular amphitheatre on our doorstep.
For those who have come to previous Northern Grips, you’ll be pleased to know we aren’t cutting anything back for this year. The waymarked trails, tasty food, delicious drink, happy camping, live music, DJs, demo bikes, trade stands, kids activities, relaxed vibes and good times with like-minded bikey buds in an amazing setting will all be there to welcome you.
And we’ll be bringing back a bit of the unexpected hilltop madness that you’ve come to expect from Northern Grip. Regular grippers will remember well the brass bands playing in a quarry, sausage rolls on a hilltop, hula hoop gymnasts on the demo loop, punk rock in the allotments, ice pop refuelling stops and sunshine in Bacup. There’ll be more of that sort of thing this year.
This first wave of tickets released are at the Early Bird Ticket price of… £10. A ticket for a tenner! Subsequent waves of ticket releases will be at higher price so it pays to act fast.

*Advance Camping tickets are just £20 for two nights (Friday & Saturday) for small tent or £30 for two nights for large tent / camper van and are also limited.
Just like last year we’ll have camping and showers available on site in Stubbylee Park for both Friday and Saturday nights.
This means you’ll be right at the heart of the action, with just a short stroll back to your bed when the party winds down.
